Sam I Be of PASSING TIME interviews OF

Front Line Assembly
NOTE:Daphne (DED) Di Gangi, Dj Arum, Dan (Billy D Bass) Reese, and Dan Yoho were of massive help in conducting this interview.

GREETINGS UNSETTLED SOULS, and welcome ALL OF THE PASSING FAITHFUL (our fans) to yet another interview, this time with, drummer of the legendary Front Line Assembly. If you are a long time fan, then you are used to these, but for everyone else, here is the deal - our band Passing Time a long time ago decided that we were going to conduct a series of interviews with members of the scenes best acts and post all of the text here. Once posted, these interviews do two great things just based upon the nature of the internet and how it works. Frist, it increases traffic to The Passing Time as well as the bands site who we are interviewing since we do see a TON of net traffic here and two - it helps the scene as a whole which is also of GREAT importance to this band.

Lastly - I (Sam I Be, author of what you are now reading) have a plethora of articles, interviews, blogs (click HERE to see The CORRECT VIEWS , and what not that is 100% "professional". By that I mean I don't use words like "I", I don't digress, blah, blah, blah - and THIS IS NOT one of those articles. This is me, Sam I Be, talking to my fans, friends, and readers just like you were in my house. So again, kick your shoes off, put your smelly ass feet upon my coffee table, and light up the Paradise City because this is FRTON LINE ASSEMBLY!

Ok, so now that you have the boring talk over with, can you the reader imagine how great it was - Passing Time opened for Front Line. If there was no FLA, no songs like "Provision", "Millineum", "Victim", "VIctim of a Criminal", and "The Blade", no keyboard mayhem, then while there may have still been a Passing Time, Passing Time may have sounded a bit different. After all, besides Front Line Assembly, don't forget Noise Unit, Delerium, and a little band called Skinny Puppy which were all started or somehow birthed into being by FLA leader Bill Leeb. Dont' forget Rys Fulber (not on this tour, but a member of the past and perhaps future) and his work with Fear Factory. Quite simply, FLA really are one of the genres most important acts, and Passing Time were asked to open that show (see the band blog at The Passing Time myspace site where I review the show from OUR point of view). Now that we are ALL on the same page, what was the show like? Well the band sounded great, that is first to be stated. I myself was most awaiting "Provision" (which was not done) and "Millineum" (which was THRASHED and perfect. Still not let it be forgotten that FLA can really do more than shred, as proved by songs such as "Liquid Seraration" and dance floor staple "The Blade" which they closed with. The drums were tighter than a virgin on prom night, not a single error was to be heard all night, than man is a human metronome over what is saying a lot considering the amount of complexities that needed played over.

Being part of show myself made a total review very difficult, but I can say that The Start, Cyanotic, and what little I got to hear of Filement 38 sounded very good. The only complaint from the eyes of this author was the damnable crybaby's in the mosh pit! Yes, whiners and retards in the pit, how truley mindless and boneheaded. When metal married industrial, Front Line Assembly were scripting the wedding vows, so either get off the floor or go home because we are NOT just going to stand there for what birthed the very music that we vent to like a field of lazy daisies just because you are acting like a creampuff and are also stupid enough to stand in the mosh pit during a metal/industrial concert!

Sam I Be/Passing Time"Wonderful show. I have only had the pleasure of seeing Front Line Assembly once before with Switchblade Symphony and Spahn Ranch. Those are two of my faves by the way, and they are sadly no longer making music. It is so good to see you guys still out there.

"

Adrian White "Thank you, but I was not on that tour. I have been with them for many years, though. I also was with Derlerium on tour."

Sam I Be/Passing Time"Did you get to tour with Sarah McGlaufhlin?" (this I asked because Sarah was a vocalist in the Delerium project)

Adrian White "No, I did not, Sarah did not go on that tour, that was Sherry Harlin. Sherry did a wonderful job, as good as the recording - even better at times I think. It was a great show. You can find her online and at myspace, you should really go and see her work"

Sam I Be"I will do just that, and I will also make sure it makes it in the interview.
With this tour, what are some of the songs you performing the best?"

Adrian White "I used to be in a punk band, that is my background, so I really like the guitar stuff. I am a fan of heavy music.

Sam I Be/Passing Time "There is a lot of diversity from heavy to more tradional electronic, so the heavy stuff really stands up well with that interply from song to song."

Adrian White "Yeah, it does. I like 'Millineum', all the heavy stuff"

Daphne/Passing Time "I second that."
Adrian White and Daphne exchange a few words about the fine art of social drinking when one of the venders reaches from Adrian White 's drink to which Adrian says, "Hey, that is mine" and motions that he is drinking more than the half empty Red Bull that is also sitting by his side. "No problem," Adrian White says to Daphne, "I am up to The Rockstar (a room where the after party was upstairs where we all went post show) as soon as we are done here" again in joking reference to alchohol.

Sam I Be/Passing Time"Do you think Bill will work with Rys Fulber in the future, maybe with Front Lise Assembly?"

Adrian White "Probably. I mean, like ever? Ever is a big word, will you ever do something? Sure. Rys is very busy these days. He just became the father of an ELEVEN POUND BABY."

Sam I Be/Passing Time:"WOOF! Eleven pounds, C-section I would hope."

Adrian White :"Yeah, so he is quite busy these days."

Sam I Be/Passing Time: "Ok, my favorite last question, everyone gets this....if you could say ANYTHING to anyone reading this or anyone on Earth who may find this article for whatever reason somewhere in 'net-land', what would you like to say?"

Adrian White : I would ask them to check out my other work. The Silent Alarm
